ロレックスの旗艦機種であるデイトジャスト。中でもRef.1603はステンレススチール製のエングレーブドベゼルを装備したモデルですが、最初期にのみ見られる通称「バンブーベゼル」がついた希少な個体です。前身機種であるRef.6605と比べると、1603のデザインを模索していた過渡期にのみ製造されたものであることがわかります。ダイヤルはブラックミラーで、クサビインデックスとドーフィンハンドの組み合わせは、オールドロレックスならではの魅力を放っています。ロレックス純正のフォールデッドジュビリーブレスレット、クラスプデイト62/2、エンドリンク55を装備しています。
搭載されているCal.1560は、テンワの慣性モーメントを調整することで時計の進み遅れを制御する「フリースプラング」を採用しており、これはロレックスが緩急針を初めて取り除いたクロノメータームーブメントとして、大変定評のある機械です。

The Rolex Datejust is the brand’s flagship model, and among them, the Ref. 1603 stands out with its stainless steel engraved bezel. This particular piece is especially rare, featuring the so-called "Bamboo Bezel," which was only produced during the early stages of the 1603’s design. Compared to its predecessor, Ref. 6605, reflecting a transitional period in the 1603’s evolution. The dial is a black mirror finish, and the combination of wedge indices and dauphine hands gives this watch the unmistakable charm of a vintage Rolex. It comes with an original Rolex folded Jubilee bracelet, clasp dated 62/2, and end links numbered 55.
The watch is powered by the Caliber 1560, a highly regarded chronometer movement that introduced Rolex's "free-sprung" mechanism. By adjusting the inertia of the balance wheel, it controls the rate of the watch without the use of a traditional regulator, making it one of Rolex’s first movements without a regulator index.
