Description

Rolex Oysterquartz Datejust 17000

Rolex was developing electronic watch movements from at least 1952, long before most other companies, and the Oysterquartz's release in 1977 represented a huge amount of research in this field. With its un-Rolexy angular lines and integrated bracelets, the collection was a huge success, especially in America and Asia. But the real beauty lay in the movements—despite being “just” quartz, they were finished to even higher standards than Rolex's mechanical calibres, and used the most advanced components and circuitry then invented. Like many great things in history, the Oysterquartz wasn't properly appreciated until it came out of production in 2001. It is estimated that only 25,000 watches were ever made, making it a highly desirable collector's model. This Rolex Oysterquartz Datejust 17000 has a silver baton dial and a bracelet strap. This Rolex has undergone a thorough inspection of water resistance, accuracy, functionality and condition to determine the level of reconditioning required to meet our strict standards. It has also been referenced against technical documents and manufacturer records where available to ensure authenticity and a clean history. All our watches have a 24-month warranty for your peace of mind. One of our skilled polishing technicians has removed marks on the case and bracelet of this watch, brought about by daily wear and tear, which is why this watch does not come with the remaining manufacturer’s warranty.
