Rolex Datejust 1601

Description

Rolex Datejust Yellow Gold Bezel VWS-3255

Here is a fabulous, all original Rolex Datejust from 1972. The champagne sunburst is in excellent condition, with a golden Rolex crown at 12 o’clock and railroad track steel hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends. The golden baton hands are in fine condition with a few marks of wear and the original lume intact albeit somewhat degraded. The hack feature stops the watch when the crown is pulled out so the time can be set accurately. The 3 o’clock window with the cyclops eye displays the manually set date. The 18K yellow gold fluted bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear. The stainless steel case has a radially brushed face and polished sides, with the original screw-down crown working as it should. The case is in fine condition, showing a few marks of wear on both case sides and on the face towards the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with some overall wear. The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Rolex buckle in fine condition. Inside the watch, Rolex’s high grade 1575 movement – marked 1570 as was common – beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in April 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning. Datejust’s are perhaps our favorite Rolex line, and the wonderful dial and overall condition on this one makes it a fantastic watch on the wrist. This is a watch that will make its new owner very happy, while also being a great investment for the future.
