The deep lapis lazuli shimmers with cosmic energy, while the solid yellow gold case and bracelet add a regal glow. Please refer to the high-resolution pictures to assess the condition of the watch. MODEL / REFERENCE: Rolex Datejust Reference 1601 in 18k yellow gold. The serial number 5’061’084 dates the production to approx. 1978. Inventory Number: SAS-34-27. DIAL+HANDS: The original lapis lazuli dial is complemented with a sharp gilt printing and an applied coronet at 12 o’clock. The flawless surface presents no cracks or marks.The dial is original to the watch and has not been replaced during Rolex Service. The date window at 3 o’clock features a clean beige date disc showing slight, even aging for added character. The non-luminous golden baton hands are in good condition. CRYSTAL: Correct plexy crystal in new condition (replaced during Rolex service). The cyclops lens aligns perfectly with the date window. Please note that some pictures show the crystal with light scratches, as the pictures were taken before the replacement CASE: The 36mm 18k yellow gold Oyster case retains its classic profile and sharp fluted bezel. It shows crisp hallmarks and light signs of use. CASEBACK: The original yellow gold case back shows light surface marks and hairline scratches. The inner side is factory engraved and carries the reference number along with the correct hallmarks, including master casemaker: Genex S.A. CROWN: Correct Rolex “Twinlock” screw-down crown in good cosmetic and functional conditions. MOVEMENT: Inhouse Cal. 1570 automatic movement, 26 jewels, 19800 bph. The movement received a full Rolex service in December 2025. It shows strong performance, keeps precise time, and the date disc changes at midnight. BRACELET: Fully linked yellow gold President bracelet. The overall construction remains sturdy despite some apparent stretch. The deployant clasp is signed and bears all the period correct hallmarks. It closes securely. The bracelet fits a wrist of approx. 17.5 cm. Spare links are available upon request. ACCESSORIES: Rolex Service pouch, Rolex service card, copy of the Bucherer service invoice.
