Of the steel, yellow gold and rose examples, rose gold seems to be the rarest of the metals. It measures 38mm in diameter (47mm lug to lug). Wearing the 8171 is very nice, due to the large dimensions. This example dates to the early 1950s - although the serial is not clearly visible as these were very faint and has been lost from wear. The case has been lightly polished. The watch is powered by the automatic calibre A295 CPL. It features a non-luminous dial which has been reprinted. If it were a non-reprinted dial in great condition it could be as high as a $500,000 price. The feuille hands are also rose gold and it features an English calendar. The watch comes from a collector who has inherited it from his father and has owned it for several decades. It does not come with box and papers.
