This is an outstanding example of the Rolex Daytona 6263 Big Red. The Black dial BIG RED is in perfect condition. cal. 727 manual winding nickel lever movement, 17 jewels • bi-colour black and silver dial, baton indexes with luminous dots and hands, outer minute and 1/5 second division, subsidiary dials for constant second, 30-minute and 12-hour registers • brushed and polished servie Original Rolex Oyster case 4415XXX serie, black bezel calibrated to 200 units, screw-down crown, pushers and case back •case, dial and movement signed • with a stainless steel Oyster bracelet diameter 37 mm thickness 13.5 mm , bracelet circumference 205 mm. Released circa 1976 the Daytona Ref.6263 featuring an Oyster case with screw-down back, crown and chronograph buttons and fitted with a black acrylic calibrated bezel remained in production until circa 1987. The combination of a black dial with white subsidiary dials and red large print ‘Daytona’ text have given this model combination the affectionate moniker ‘Big Red’ by collectors.
