Named after the legendary actor and racing enthusiast Paul Newman, this model embodies the spirit of the 1960s and 1970s, when motorsport and high fashion began to intertwine. One of the defining features of the Ref. 6262 is its transitional design, bridging early and later vintage Daytona models. It combines the early pump pushers characteristic of the Ref. 6239 with the more modern Valjoux 727 movement, which was also used in the subsequent 6263 and 6265 models. The aesthetic of the present 6262 is captivating, featuring a white dial with contrasting black sub-dials that offer excellent legibility. The "exotic" dial variations, including the unique square markers and distinctive layout, contribute to its allure, making it a highly sought-after piece in the vintage market. Due to its limited production run—estimated at around 1000 pieces—the Ref. 6262 is exceedingly rare. The present lot is further accompanied with the original garantie and presentation box.
