It is stamped ‘6242’ which does not correspond to any reference offered by Rolex. These case backs were made as prototypes and used on the reference 6262 Yacht-Master prototype. Other examples of 6239s with this case back have been found, all within a close serial range. This watch offers the chance to own a very nice example of the first reference Daytona with a small variation that sets it apart.
