With such a short period of production the 6234 is a highly prized watch with limited availability. It is believed that approximately only 2300 examples were released in steel and naturally far less in gold. In 1960 Rolex replaced the 6234 with the 6238 which also shares the nickname of 'Pre-Daytona'.
