1966 Rolex 5512 Tropical Four Line Submariner

Description : The Gilt era of Rolex Sports watches to us are the golden (no pun intended) era of the brand. These inverse black lacquer dials highlight the brass through a negative relief when they manufacturer the dial. The gold text is not actually paint but carefully masked areas showing the metal underneath. This specific near unpolished 5512 has 4 lines of text with 2 lines of printed silver. The dial has begun turning tropical and has speckling of gold throughout the dial. Insert is a ghosted long 5 insert. To top it all of, this is a bart Simpson dial , named for its cartoonish like crown / coronet.
