The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The gilt dial has aged nicely due to the luminous materials. The gilt dial now appears to have a matte finish and is spotted and tarnished throughout. The hands has been later replaced. The bezel and band with tiny surface wear and pinhead dings throughout, especially at 3 o'clock with a ding visible to the naked eye. The numbers between the lugs are crisp and easy to read. The case back with surface wear throughout. The case has been gently polished, however the the lugs remains thick.
Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts.

We reserve the right to remove these bands prior to shipping. " The present watch is an example of the “tropical” dial, with a refined glossy chapter ring, matching creamy markers and hands. The glossy finish on the dial has aged to a matte texture and has a strong reaction under the Geiger counter and the lumes react well under UV.
