Rolex GMT-Master 1675/8

Description

Rolex GMT-Master Reference 16758 in 18K Yellow Gold Unpolished w/ Box

The Rolex GMT-Master was originally designed for Pan Am pilots in the 1950s and continues to be a flagship model for Rolex to this day. The reference 1675 was introduced in 1959 and remained in production until 1980. This is an extremely attractive 16758 featuring an 8.3M serial number, dating to circa 1984. The aluminum bezel insert is a beautiful brown. The case appears to be unpolished and is so crisp. The dial with nipple hour markers is incredible and in fantastic condition. It does not come with papers. It does come with a box and catalog. We do not know the service history, but it is running well. It recently passed a 5 bar water resistance test. It is so rare to find an example of this watch in this condition. We think whoever buys it is going to be extremely pleased to own it!

Discover all the different variants of this specific reference that can enhance, or limit, this watch's value and collectability.
Tropical Dial
A dial that has aged from black to a brown or caramel color due to prolonged exposure to sunlight and elements. Highly prized for its unique and attractive aging. Greatly increases value due to unique appearance and collector demand.
Rivet Bracelet
A bracelet design with visible rivet heads on the side of the links, characteristic of vintage Rolex models.
Nipple Dial
The "nipple dial" is a term used to describe a specific type of dial found on certain vintage Rolex watches, particularly the Rolex GMT-Master and Submariner models from the 1970s and 1980s. The distinguishing feature of a nipple dial is its hour markers: instead of the usual flat or applied markers, these dials have raised, gold-trimmed markers that resemble small "nipples." These markers are typically made of gold and are filled with luminous material, allowing them to be easily read in low-light conditions. The nipple dial is considered highly desirable among collectors due to its distinctive look and its association with vintage Rolex models.
