For sale is a very Rare Vintage Rolex Datejust Ref. 1611 from 1979 with a unique ‘Morellis’ finish on the president bracelet and bezel. The 1611 is not a common model and you would be excused for never having heard of it, in fact it is the first one we have stocked which is indicative of its scarcity. The reference 1611 is set apart from other Datejust models by the artisanal ‘Morellis’ hammer-finish on the centre links of the president bracelet and the bezel. In addition to its rarity, this piece is further exemplified by its immaculate condition. The case, lugs, bezel and bracelet are sharp and the bracelet is in excellent condition with hardly any stretch. The watch features a stunning sunburst “ Havana- Ghost ” dial. The term "Havana" is often used to describe a rich, warm brown color, resembling the hue of cigars from Havana, Cuba. The term “Ghost” is used by collectors for dials which have light coloured text, usually similar to the colour of the dial itself. This similarity in colour sometimes makes the text seem like it has disappeared in certain light, just like a ghost.
