Rolex Datejust 116233

Description

2009 Rolex 116233 Datejust 36mm 18K Yellow Gold Streel Roman Dial Watch

The reference 116233 was introduced in 2005 as the six-digit successor to the beloved 16233 of the 1980s and 90s. It served as the anchor for Rolex’s "Yellow Rolesor" (the brand's patented term for marrying Oystersteel and 18kt yellow gold) catalog until it was replaced by the current generation (Ref. 126233) at Baselworld 2018. Rolex implemented the hidden Crownclasp. The traditional folding buckle was completely omitted, leaving the five-piece links seemingly endless around the wrist, broken only by a small raised Rolex crown that serves as the lever to pop the clasp open. The lugs were updated from a brushed satin finish to a high-polish finish, making the case blend seamlessly with the gleaming 18kt yellow gold fluted bezel.
