Footnotes Louis Recordon is listed as working from 1778 to 1824. He worked from Greek Street, Soho until 1797 when he succeeded Emery at No. 33 Cockspur Street. He was a maker of fine watches, with a variety of escapements. He was Breguet's agent in London and took out an English patent (No.1249) for self winding watches for him in 1780. On the current lot a small screw adjacent to the II fixes the dial to the movement in a manner characteristic of watches also by Breguet.
