The name "never saw the light" is associated with claims that these watches never entered mass production or retail and remained within the factory. Caliber 2409 was developed at PChZ and was originally intended to be manufactured there. However, production was transferred to the Chistopol Watch Factory, where the movement became widely used in Vostok brand watches. Despite this, Raketa watches with caliber 2409 remain rare and are highly valued among collectors of Soviet watches.
