The HyperChrome collection combines polished and brushed stainless steel, Titanium, and High-Tech Grey Ceramic for an attractive, contemporary sporty aesthetic. At 44mm, the case curves over your wrist towards the tapered lugs for a comfortable fit, polished and brushed surfaces transition with crisp edges, leading to a lug-to-lug length of 51.5mm and a case thickness of 15mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side, we have a raised polished section with polished chronograph pushers that effortlessly flow with the case's contours, as well as a recessed signed crown with deep knurling and hobnail texturing for grip. The left side of the case has a matching raised polished section, which keeps the case symmetrical. The fixed bezel is made of scratch-resistant ceramic with a tachymeter scale, and a domed sapphire crystal AR coated sits above a dynamic white and black “Panda” dial. A black outer minute chapter ring is precisely executed with SuperLumiNova plots at the hour, and polished Arabic indexes are applied to mark the hours, creating depth and a pleasing shimmer when you rotate your wrist. At noon, we have a black 30-minute register; at 6 o’clock, a black 12-hour register, each has a polished ring and is slightly recessed; and finally, at 9 o’clock, a small seconds. Between the four and five, there is a colour-matched date window. Slender baton hands are polished and filled with SuperLumiNova, complemented by a tapered chronograph hand with a red tip. At 3 o’clock, we have the rotating red Rado motif anchor with “Automatic” printed underneath, completing this dynamic Panda dial sports chronograph. On the reverse, we have a screw-down exhibition case back with the watch details around the edge, inside an automatic Rado 603.6042.3, 26 jewels, signed rotor and nicely decorated in Côtes de Genève. The watch comes paired with its 21mm polished and brushed stainless steel bracelet secured by a signed Titanium push-button clasp and comes with its Rado presentation box, swing tag and paperwork. Personal Note This Rado HyperChrome Chronograph "Panda", reference R32042103, in 44mm is undeniably a large watch, but it does wear incredibly well thanks to the lug-to-lug length of 51.5mm, arguably a more important measurement than the general case size. It is usually best to try a watch like this on first, especially if you aren't used to larger watches. If you are unable to get into the office to try it on I'd suggest trying your local AD that has Rado as I suspect they'll have one of the variations in stock, just don't look at the RRP of £2,390! The Brand The Schlup & Co. watch factory was founded by the brothers Fritz, Ernst, and Werner in 1917. Using a spare room in their parent’s house in Lengnau, Switzerland, they quickly became one of the world's largest producers of watch movements. The first time they used the brand name Rado was in the 1950s. By the end of the decade, they had a presence in over 61 countries. Over the years, they have innovated and created many distinctive designs, building a reputation for durability and reliability.
