A fantastic rugged watch nearly half a century old. Shows signs of patina on the buttons (see pics), but works perfectly. Even the plastic protector on the rear of the case is intact, if yellowed. A lovely eye-catching classic watch. The Orfina Porsche Design 7176 was part of a groundbreaking collaboration between Porsche Design and Orfina, a Swiss watch manufacturer. It was introduced in the mid-1970s, following the 1972 debut of Porsche Design’s first chronograph, the Porsche Design Chronograph I. The Porsche Design Chronograph I (which included the 7176) was the first-ever watch with a black PVD-coated case, pioneering the use of a fully blacked-out watch design. The combination of being an early Porsche Design model of limited production and its pioneering use of black PVD and military associations makes the 7176 a rare and valuable piece in the eyes of collectors.
