It acts as a rotor and performs a dazzling interplay of light and movement. The dial face beneath the rotor is luminescent which provides a very neat optical illusion. The second crown at the 11 o'clock marker is a screw down adjustment to set your "dive" time via a rotating chapter ring. This is our favorite method to set time mechanically, as opposed to the traditional rotating bezel. In this case, the large indice in place of "12" along with the Arabic numerals are luminescent and positively will not be accidentally jarred or advanced inadvertently. This is a patented Perrelet design along with the movement which sets this rugged tool watch apart from the crowd.
