Patek Philippe's first watch with a World Time complication was introduced in 1936 in conjunction with Louis Cottier. Allowing the user to view the time in 24 locations simultaneously, it is a complication loved by travellers. Revisited and refined over the years, the latest generation of World Time watches from Patek Philippe allow the local time to be adjusted with a press of a button. The ref. 5230 was introduced in 2016, the latest in a long line of World Time references offered by the brand. The 38.5mm case is produced in platinum, distinguished by a single diamond set in the case at 6 o'clock. The blue dial features a basket-weave motif in the centre, created via a hand-guilloche technique. The outer ring displays the main city in each time zone, whilst the inner ring displays the time in each corresponding time zone. The watch is fitted to a leather strap with a platinum deployant buckle. The watch is powered by the self-winding Cal. 240 HU. It boasts a power reserve of 48 hours and features an off-set micro-rotor manufactured in 22ct gold. The movement is visible through a display caseback. This watch comes complete with Patek Philippe box and Certificate of Origin dated 2023.
