Over the years, the Manufacture expanded the collection with a white gold version in 2009, followed by pink gold in 2014 and platinum in 2017, before discontinuing the model in 2021. Renowned as both a horological masterpiece and a work of art, the 5131 features a hand-painted cloisonné enamel dial depicting four continents—Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Given the extremely intricate and time-consuming enameling process, Patek Philippe produced only a limited quantity of this reference each year, making it highly coveted among collectors. Even during its production years, the 5131 had a substantial waiting list, as only a handful of master enamelers could craft fewer than 40 dials annually.
