Rodanet & Cie. constructeur de chronomètres, rue Vivienne 38, Paris, No 2705, sold to the Shah of Persia on June 30th 1873. Very fine 18 ct. pink gold hunting cased five minute repeating keyless watch with chronograph, in original fitted case., CHF 50,000 - 60,000 Four body massive " pomme et filets" engine turned case, a monogram on the cover, a small star on the back. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute and chronograph rings and subsidiary seconds. Blued "pear" hands. GiIt brass 19" movement, 18 jewels, equilibrated straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs by means of a slide on the band. Signed on the dial and the cuvette. In excellent condition. Diam. 53 mm At that time, the Shah of Persia was Nassir Ed Din, the last one of the Qajars Dynasty. He was the first Persian ruler to travel throughout Europe.
