The partnership between Patek Philippe and Tiffany & Co started in 1856 when the two parties signed an agreement for Tiffany & Co to be the first retailers in America to have the exclusive rights to sell Patek Philippe timepieces. For the benefit of both, the retailers name was signed on the dial to increase the brands publicity. These days, double signed wristwatches command a premium in value over a regular example.
