Patek Philippe Tegolino

Description

Patek Philippe Tegolino Cal. 9-90 Tank Watch 1940s Solid 18K Yellow Gold

Inside is the original Patek Philippe cal. 9-90, adjusted to five positions, with classic finger bridges, Geneva seal finishing, and free-sprung balance. • Manufacturer: Patek Philippe. The proportions are elegant and understated, very much in line with Patek’s design language of the period. Offered here is a vintage Patek Philippe rectangular wristwatch from the mid-20th century, powered by the renowned manual-wind caliber 9-90. This model represents Patek Philippe’s early rectangular dress watches, produced in relatively small numbers and finished to the same standard as their round contemporaries. The watch features an 18k yellow gold rectangular case with stepped sides and recessed lugs, paired with a silvered dial with applied gold baton markers and a subsidiary seconds register at 6 o’clock. Inside is the original Patek Philippe cal. 9-90, adjusted to five positions, with classic finger bridges, Geneva seal finishing, and free-sprung balance. The movement is signed and numbered, and the case back is signed and numbered as well. Case and movement serials are visible in the photos and are consistent with mid-century production. Details: • Manufacturer: Patek Philippe • Movement: Manual wind, caliber 9-90 • Case material: 18k yellow gold • Dial: Silvered with applied gold indices, subsidiary seconds • Case shape: Rectangular • Era: circa 1940s • Strap: Black leather (not original) Condition: The watch presents honestly as a well-preserved vintage piece. Case shows light wear consistent with age. Dial displays patina appropriate for the period with no refinishing noted. Movement appears complete and original. Service history is unknown; as with most vintage watches of this age, a routine service should be expected if the watch is to be worn regularly. Please note: Patek Philippe did not consistently assign or record reference numbers for rectangular watches of this era. Identification is based on confirmed caliber, case construction, and serial ranges. An Extract from the Archives may be ordered by the next owner if desired. This is a classic and increasingly hard-to-find example of a rectangular Patek Philippe from the golden age of mechanical watchmaking—elegant, restrained, and unmistakably Patek.
