Launched in 2006 as Patek Philippe’s first-ever automatic chronograph, the ref. 5980 was an unapologetic expansion of the Nautilus’ sports watch ethos through the simple fact that chronographs, at their core, are a complication catered for sports and activities. Luxuriously crafted from 18kt rose gold, the ref. 5980/1R maintains the Nautilus’ distinctive porthole-inspired case shape along with the model’s signature integrated bracelet and horizontally embossed dial design.
