Both timepieces featured a distinctive dial embossed with “1976–40–2016,” marking four decades of this celebrated design. Among them was the Nautilus reference 5976G, a chronograph with date display, notable for its bold 44mm white gold case—earning it the nickname "Tombstone." It remains the largest case ever introduced in the Nautilus collection, setting it apart as a true statement piece. This bold case size sets the reference apart, but it’s the dial that truly captures the imagination of Patek Philippe connoisseurs. For the first time, a commemorative date was inscribed on the classic ribbed sunburst blue dial, adding historical depth to its aesthetic appeal. Enhancing its elegance further, the dial is adorned with ten baguette-cut diamond hour markers, totaling approximately 0.29 carats. Released in 2016 as an unnumbered limited edition of just 1,300 pieces, this commemorative timepiece was offered exclusively to Patek Philippe’s most loyal and supportive clients around the world.
