Long recognized as a leader in innovated movement technology, the annual calendar mechanism allowed the wearer to only change the date once a year on March 1st . The calendar took in to account whether a month was 30 or 31 days long and corrected the date automatically. The reference 5726A was released in 2010 in stainless steel with a leather strap, and upgraded in 2012 to include a stainless steel bracelet and new light silver dial. Patek Philippe’s Nautilus model is a favourite in the collecting community with its Jules Verne Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea inspired case by Gerald Genta. Introduced in 1976 as a luxury sports wristwatch it has been updated over the last 40 years and includes models from time only gold examples, to chronograph models. Still available today, the reference 5726A is a sporty watch, which is complimentary in any setting from a weekend at the beach, to negotiations in the boardroom. The present example is at auction for the first time and is in excellent overall condition with original factory finish.
