Patek Philippe Nautilus 3700/1A

Description

Patek Philippe

The first Nautilus was produced for about six years starting in 1976. The 40mm case, which was large for its time, was nicknamed "Jumbo" because its successor, the Ref. 3800, was reduced to 37.5mm. The caseback and case are one piece in a two piece construction, with a screw down mechanism that engages with the ears on both ends, and despite being 7.5mm thin, the watch is water resistant to 120m. This is a rare watch with a three piece construction, which is the norm today, except for a few.
