Patek Philippe Moonphase 5015J

Description

Mid/Late 90's Patek Philippe Gold Moonphase Officer's Watch Men's 5015J Box

a Patek Philippe 5015J-001, part of a series produced from 1994 to 1999. The 5015 is an officer-style watch inspired by WWI-era converted pocket watches. The 35mm case in 18k yellow gold is 9.5mm thick with a 41.4mm lug-to-lug span. Construction follows the traditional method: lugs welded to the case and hand-finished to eliminate any visible joint. The hinged hunter caseback opens to reveal the movement, and the straps are screw-fixed rather than spring bar mounted. Details include an onion crown and a beaded bezel surround. The white dial features radially arrayed Arabic numerals in a pre-art nouveau font, moon phase at 6/7, small seconds, and a power reserve indicator. Hands are blackened white gold. The movement is Patek's caliber 240 with a 22-karat gold micro rotor, Geneva Hallmark finishing, Gyromax free-sprung balance, and 48+ hours of power reserve at 21,600 vph. The micro rotor is what allows both the slim case profile and the unobstructed caseback view.
