On the original reptile strap with the original platinum tang buckle. Deco-style triple-stepped bezel with a sapphire crystal and sapphire display caseback. The case dimensions are 29.5 mm x 51.7 mm including the lugs. Manual-wind tourbillon movement with a ten-day power reserve. Salmon dial with applied black Arabic numerals and hands, power reserve indicator, and small seconds. With the box, presentation binder, official chronometer certificate, instruction documents, photos, and papers dated November 2007. Very Good condition. At Basel 2003 Patek made the debut of the 5101P which contained a few surprises. Most notably, a 72-piece tourbillon regulator and a tandem mainspring barrel with 240 hours of energy storage. Interestingly the tourbillon cage is concealed to the back of the watch. At the time this was for a special reason. The oils used within the mechanism were sensitive to light, and to guarantee the stringent standards imposed on tourbillon pieces were consistently met, the tourbillion was placed hidden to the back where it was protected from UV light. The 5101P carries both the Contrôle Officiel Suisse de Chronomètre certification and the Geneva Seal. All of that housed in a distinctive rectangular case made this an indelible part of the Patek lineage, and one that has made its mark for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
