The Golden Ellipse collection was introduced in 1968, inspired by the "golden ratio," a mathematical concept linked to aesthetic harmony. The Ref. 3605/1, manufactured between 1971 and the early 1980s, is notable as the largest Ellipse model ever created by Patek Philippe and one of the few to include a date complication. The present example is preserved in exceptional condition and presented as a full set, complete with its original presentation box, outer box, guarantee and booklets. The watch features an immaculate champagne dial and a strong unpolished case showing some beautiful natural patina. The case measures 38 x 33 mm and has a thickness of 6.5 mm. The watch is powered by the automatic caliber 28-255C, the very same movement later used in the iconic Patek Nautilus ref. 3700/1. The movement is clean and running smoothly. Fitted on its original black leather strap with gold signed buckle.
