Patek Philippe’s Calatrava is a horological icon offered by the luxury brand since 1932. The early reference 96 inspired by the Bauhaus aesthetic canon of “form follows function” resulted in a timeless elegance that echoes throughout their collection and is still produced today with the reference 5227. The reference 5000 is a bold Calatrava first released in 1992 in a limited edition of 500 white gold examples. The model is a modern take on the Calatrava with the caliber 240 featuring a micro-rotor and offset subsidiary seconds. The model was well received by collectors and later released in both 18K yellow gold and 18K pink gold. The model was discontinued in 2004. The present model is offered for the first time by the original owner and is the first known reference 5000 with the prestigious ‘Tiffany & Co.’ retailer signature on the dial.
