The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The date function is working properly. All diamonds are nice and intact. The case with minor signs of wear, hardly visible with the naked eyes. Otherwise the watch is in very good overall condition.
Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts. We reserve the right to remove these bands prior to shipping. " Manufactured in the final years of the 20th century, this Calatrava still retains the Geneva seal of quality. Though not visible through the solid caseback, the movement is beautifully decorated with fausses côtes, perlage and a solid 21k gold rotor. What is visible is the beautiful lacquer dial, off-white in color which gives the watch a subdued elegance as opposed to bright white. The case and buckle are made of platinum and paired with the diamond-set dial really elevates this watch above its contemporaries.
This watch is a quintessential automatic Calatrava with the size and thickness making this watch both perfect for daily wear, but also suitable for special events with the touch of class from the diamond set dial.
