The Patek Philippe Annual Calendar is a watch that was first introduced in 1996, and it quickly became one of the brand's most popular models. It was created as a more affordable alternative to the perpetual calendar, which is one of the most complex and expensive complications in watchmaking. The first Patek Philippe Annual Calendar was introduced in 1996, and over the years have released several different versions. In 2006, the brand introduced the first stainless steel version of the Annual Calendar Chronograph, the reference 5960/1A. This was a significant moment for the brand, as stainless steel is not a metal that Patek Philippe typically uses for its watches. Fast forward to 2014, Patek Philippe released the Annual Calendar Chronograph Stainless steel ref. 5960/1A-001, the model presented here, a truly stunning timepiece that offers a unique blend of classic and contemporary design elements. The watch features a stainless steel case that measures 40mm in diameter and 13mm in height, making it the perfect size for most wrists. The dial is a beautiful shade of silver with contrasting black and red accents, which not only complements stainless steel very well but also creates a visually striking appearance. One of the most impressive features of the watch is its complex movement - caliber CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H, capable of approximately 55 hours of power reserve along with up to 30m of water resistance. The Annual calendar displays the day, date, and month, which only needs to be adjusted once a year, at the beginning of March. With a sapphire crystal case-back, anyone can admire the intricate movement and stunning finishing work of the watch. Finally, a stainless steel bracelet completes the overall design of the watch ensuring a comfortable and secure fit for any wearer. Patek Philippe as a brand has without a doubt cemented itself into the hall of fame of watchmaking, and the Annual Calendar Chronograph Stainless Steel ref. 5960/1A-001 is a prime example of that.
