This innovation led to the creation of the elegant yet sporty 5960 in Platinum, an annual calendar “flyback” chronograph. The annual calendar, originally introduced by Patek Philippe in 1996 with reference 5035, offers the functionality of a perpetual calendar but at a lower cost, to make a bridge between a basic calatrava and perpetual. It offers than the same character as the more mature perpetual but with the require to set it manually only once a year in February. With the 5960, Patek Philippe advanced this complication by incorporating a chronograph module, providing a modern alternative to their traditional perpetual chronographs like the 5970/5270. This marked the debut of an in-house chronograph movement and set the stage alongside the Nautilus chronograph 5980, establishing a new classic. Due to its collectibility and pristine state, having barely been worn, we have decided not to service or open the case yet, but on request of the client will be executed.
