This model is notable for housing the brand's first in-house perpetual calendar chronograph caliber, replacing the previous Reference 5970, which was powered by the last Lemania-based caliber used by Patek Philippe. The new movement is entirely in-house and bears the updated “PP” seal, as opposed to the former Geneva seal, signaling a new era for the brand. The Reference 5270 was released in the traditional four case materials: 18K yellow gold, white gold, pink gold, and platinum. At Baselworld 2018, Patek Philippe unveiled the Reference 5270/1R-001, the present lot, equipped with a bracelet, crafted from 18K pink gold and featuring an eye-catching black dial that creates a striking contrast with the luxurious pink gold case and bracelet.
