The hard enamel signature on the dial is beautifully raised, the hands are the early version, the straight so-called "index" hands. Reference 1593 Reference 1593 was launched in 1944 and is also known among collectors as the "hour glass" model due to its streamlined form with its concave and curved sides. Mostly produced in yellow gold, examples in pink gold, such as the present watch, are very rare. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, pages 128, 129 & 141, and in Patek Philippe Museum - Patek Philippe - Volume II , p. 218.
