Patek Philippe – Ref. 1579 Pink Gold Casa Weil Original 1945 Chronograph – Cal. 13.CH

Brand: Patek Philippe Brand: Patek Philippe Rare Patek Philippe chronograph in rose gold with “spider” lugs and a pleasantly large case, part of the first series, produced in 1945, featuring a double-signed Weil dial, in excellent aesthetic and functional condition and complete with its Archives Extract. Ref. 1579 This reference was introduced in 1943 and remained in production until 1964. It is distinguished by its “spider” lugs and a larger-than-average 36 mm diameter. It is estimated that no more than 90 pieces were produced in rose gold, and based on our research, this is a unique example, as no other chronograph with this reference has been offered with the double Weil signature on the dial. Additionally, this chronograph comes from a private collection, and this is the first time it has been offered on the collectible market. The manual-wind mechanical movement is the Patek Philippe caliber 13.CH, based on the Valjoux VZ, running with precision and recently serviced. It is delivered with a 6-month warranty. The movement is in excellent condition, free of rust or oxidation, and shows the superior horological quality typical of Patek Philippe movements from this era. The 18kt rose gold case is well-proportioned and in excellent condition, measuring 36 mm (excluding the original crown). The pressure-locked case back is correctly stamped and numbered. The lug at 11 o’clock has a small solder point where it attaches to the case, it is almost imperceptible to the naked eye, but mentioned here for completeness. The original silvered un-eraseable dial, with hard enamel graphics, is in excellent condition, with no oxidation and only a very light, uniform patina. The dial also shows some very small scratches. This dial has not been restored or cleaned and remains in its original condition. This is the correct dial for this chronograph, which was manufactured in 1945 (and sold on 12/19/1946), as noted in the Archives Extract. It is a first-series dial, identifiable by the baton indices and the applied Arabic numerals at 6 and 12 o’clock, produced only between 1943 and 1949, making it rarer than second-series dials, which are characterized by the square pyramid indices and were produced for 15 years The original hands are in excellent condition. The double Weil signature at 6 o’clock is an absolute rarity. Casa Weil was a Patek Philippe retailer with locations in Santiago, Chile, and Valparaiso. This chronograph is complete with and original and new crocodile strap is accompanied by the original “AW” rose gold buckle. The plexiglass crystal is in excellent condition. The watch is guaranteed original and sold with our 6-month warranty, accompanied by our certificate of authenticity, its archive extract, and a vintage Patek Philippe inner and outer box.
