PANERAI LUMINOR BASE "PRE-A" TRITIUM BLACK PVD After Vendôme group (Richemont) acquired Officine Panerai in 1998, full production began with the A and B series models. Just before that, a very small run of so-called ‘Pre-A’ watches was released, mainly to generate attention and spark interest. It’s estimated that fewer than roughly 1,700 pieces were produced in total, spread across a few references with no clear numbers for each reference. Their rarity is amplified by the varying condition of surviving examples and by their strong collectability, especially as they feature those early tritium dials. This one has a black PVD coated case and tritium indexes.
