error code: 1020I am selling my Oris Rectangular automatic dress watch in grey/anthracite. This was an impulse buy for me last summer; I was chasing my Cartier Tank obsession then. I purchased the watch, wore it once around the house and put it back in the box, hoping that I would wear it on special occasions. Fast forward ten months – I am slimming down my watch collection, so I’d rather pass it on to someone who will enjoy this. Honestly, this is a great classy looking watch from Oris. I love that Oris is still an independent Swiss watch manufacturer, and they dare to do things others don’t. This watch is inspired by the great watches of the 1930s – think JLC Reverso and Cartier Tank, but it’s got its own character and is not a copy/homage to any watches, which is great! It’s a vintage-inspired watch built with modern machining and manufacturing – something one should expect from a brand like Oris. I love the case of this Oris Rectangular, and it’s one of the things that attracted me in the first place – it’s more complex than a Tank and has an interesting, sculpted look. It wears nicely on any wrist and curves nicely around it. The Rectangular measures 38mm from lug to lug and is 25.5mm across; it’s about 9-10mm thick (depending on where you measure). For a dressy watch, this has a lot of presence on the wrist, and it doesn’t feel small on my 7-inch wrist. The movement is a Swiss-made ETA 2671 with 38 hours of power reserve. The movement is visible through the exhibition caseback so that you can enjoy Oris’s trademark red rotor. I also love that you can easily dress this up or down and wear it with a suit or jeans/t-shirt. It’s also easy to change the strap to give this watch a different look: the watch comes on the stock Oris dark green leather strap (see video), plus two extra leather straps – a navy (pictured) and a grey one. All of them are quick-release straps, so it’s easy to pop them on or off. If you enjoy vintage-inspired watches – you won’t be disappointed! The anthracite dial is beautiful; the watch looks great on almost any strap. The case plays with the light nicely.
