The Big Crown Pointer Date first entered the Oris roster in 1938. It was created for glove-wearing aviators, hence the oversized crown, which ended up becoming one of the brands defining visual staples. The watch on offer here takes the historic design of its predecessor and gives it a modern twist, resulting in a singular and individualistic timepiece.
The Oris Cool Grey Big Crown Date comes equipped with a 44 mm steel case with a grey PVD coating and sports a matching dial, both of which were inspired by the aesthetic of stealth aircrafts. The dial is adorned with distinctive 3D SuperLuminova numerals, indices, and sword hands, and it features an inner 12-hour ring and a date window at the 3 o'clock position.
Inside, visible through the display caseback, the 26-jewel Oris caliber 773 is confidently ticking away.
