Released in 2004 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landings, this Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch swaps the all-black dial of the classic version for a “panda” style colour scheme, making it stand out amongst the endless variations of this legendary timepiece. It features a hesalite crystal, preferred by NASA to sapphire for space missions due to being more shatter-resistant, and the Caliber 1861 manual-wind movement, a descendant of the one worn on the moon. The steel caseback pays further tribute the historic event with an image of an eagle landing on the lunar surface, while the touchdown date is also referenced on the dial in red text.
