The last 'pre-moon' reference is fitted with the Huguenin Frères (HF) lyra case and the calibre 861, standing as the evolution of the calibre 321. The present example bears the attributes of a great vintage Speedmaster, such as the legendary stepped Singer dial and the single-bevelled Seahorse caseback, which was replaced by the commemorative 'Straight Writing' backs following the 1969 moon-landing. The 'Dot Near 90' (DN90) bezel is correct for this later production model, as only the early references 145.022-69 ST would be fitted with the 'Dot Over 90' (DON) bezel. Finally, this compelling and nicely preserved example would stand as a great addition to any vintage Speedmaster collection.
