Description

1970 Omega Speedmaster Reference 145.022-69 ST Why This Watch Matters This 145.022-69 has everything one would want in a great vintage Speedmaster. A strong case, clean dial, “dot over 90” bezel, and an extract from the archives. The Full Story Omega introduced the 145.022-69 in 1969 and it was in production until around 1971. The current example was produced on August 7, 1970 and delivered to the United States. This reference is the last from Omega to feature a caseback with no reference to the moon landing and is known by collectors as a “pre-moon” caseback. These were also the last to feature stepped dials; after this the dials were flat. This example also features the highly sought after “dot over 90” bezel in nice, honest condition. The 145.022 was the first Speedmaster to use the 861 caliber too. The Speedmaster is a tool watch at heart and before these became collectible, the people who wore them relied on the functions and used them. Coming across clean examples is getting tougher every day. This example is in great condition and would be a perfect addition to any collection.
