This Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon 310.92.44.50.01.001, a true symbol of space exploration, has been a part of all six moon landings in history, embodying OMEGA’s pioneering spirit.
Celebrating the Apollo 8 mission, this 44.25mm model features a blackened movement with laser-ablated details on the main plate and bridges, representing the moon’s surface. The near side of the moon is visible through the skeletonized black anodized aluminum dial, while the far side can be seen through the caseback.
Mounted on a perforated black rubber strap with a yellow rubber interior, the watch is crafted entirely from black ceramic. It also boasts a varnished yellow chronograph seconds hand and a laser-engraved tachymeter scale on the bezel, filled with white enamel. The small-seconds subdial showcases a unique grade 5 titanium hand shaped like the Saturn V rocket, created through a laser-turning process with finishes in white varnish, ablation, and laser blackening.
Powering this timepiece is the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 3869 movement, and the caseback is engraved with “APOLLO 8, DEC 1968,” “DARK SIDE OF THE MOON,” “WE’LL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE,” and "CO-AXIAL MASTER CHRONOMETER.” The condition of this watch is excellent, with little to no signs of wear. This timepiece is accompanied by its original inner box, outer box, serialized hangtag, International Warranty card, Pictograms card, and Master Chronometer card and operating instructions booklet.
