Terms.  Pre-owned Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon ref 311.92.44.30.01.001 is just one of the many fascinating iterations of the Speedy developed to pay homage to the timepiece that made history as the first wristwatch worn on the Moon.  While the classic Moon Watch has a stainless steel finish and a black dial and bezel, ref. 311.92.44.30.01.001 opts for a sleeker-all black design set directly inspired by the Apollo 8 mission and the dark side of the Moon.  During that mission, astronaut James Lovell told mission control, "We'll see you on the other side," as the crew became the first in the history of space travel to go to the far side of the Moon.  That historic quote is engraved on the case back alongside engravings, "APOLLO 8, DEC 1968" and "DARK SIDE OF THE MOON."  In addition to featuring a black ceramic case, Tachymeter bezel, and black strap, the Omega Dark Side of the Moon also sports a blackened movement that has been laser-ablated to depict the near side of the Moon through the skeletonized dial and the far side of the Moon through the exhibition case back.
