The Speedmaster might be the watch that made Omega a household name (and took it to the moon), but the Seamaster has been around quite a bit longer and has its own incredible legacy worth talking about. First released in 1948 in celebration of Omega’s centennial anniversary, the Seamaster became a worldwide success and was the brand’s top seller for decades. Today, it’s the longest-running name in the Omega catalog and still holds a special place in plenty of collectors’ hearts. In 1966, the brand unveiled the Seamaster 120 as a little sibling to the heavily dive-centric Seamaster 300, offering a more svelte, wearable watch that was still plenty robust enough to dive with. SPECS CASE & BRACELET The strong case retains crisp factory geometry, showing signs of only gentle use with minimal evidence of being previously polished present. The original black bezel is exceptional, exhibiting almost no wear and remaining deep black in color with the tritium pearl intact. The case retains its original Omega signed crown. The case back retains all of its factory markings in visible condition, with light signs of use present. The watch comes supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap. DIAL & HANDS The matte black, applied logo dial is in excellent vintage condition, with the only notable imperfection being the missing portion of the 2 o'clock marker; otherwise, the dial exhibits no other damage or apparent elements of age. The tritium lume applied to the dial has achieved a lovely dark tan patina, and the lume inlaid in the 12, 6, and 9 o'clock markers features a subtle green color. Under UV light inspection, the only degradation present is the aforementioned 2 o'clock marker. The original tritium hands have taken on a creamy patina, coordinating perfectly with both the lume colors of the dial. ACCESSORIES None. The watch is functioning correctly and keeping time; the previous service history is unknown. A movement service can be purchased upon request.
