It was established in 1848 with a clear focus on horological innovation – due to this it became later on the leading watch company in precision records and sports event timing. The Omega Chrono-Quartz is rare amongst modern wristwatches as the calibre 1611 “Albatros” was only used on this one single watch which was produced for the Montreal Olympics in 1976; the watch was only made in a run of approx.15,000 units – it is the world’s first digital-analogue wrist chronograph.
