Description

1960s Omega Seamaster DeVille Gold-Plated Chronograph Reference 145.018

1960s Omega Seamaster DeVille Gold-Plated Chronograph Reference 145.018, $3,500, Why This Watch Matters This classic Omega Seamaster DeVille chronograph has the perfect proportions and a beautiful patina for just the right amount of vintage charm. The Full Story While Omega created an array of notable chronograph wristwatches, this Seamaster DeVille has all of the classic elements we love in a vintage chronograph. The Seamaster line was launched in 1948 with the impetus of creating a proper wristwatch with both resilience and contemporary elegance woven right into the design. This three-register chronograph is completely wearable in a 35mm case; with the gold-plated case, you get the benefit of the appearance of a gold case without the worry of scratching a fully precious metal case. The chronograph movement inside is the same one that was used in the Speedmaster reference 145.022; the caliber 861 was used for several decades, and serves as proof that the movement is a reliable “tool watch” grade caliber. The Fine Print Maker: Omega Model: Seamaster DeVille Chronograph Reference: 145.018 Year: 1970s Movement No: 26075278 Material: Gold-plated Dimensions: 35mm diameter; 13mm thickness Crystal: Acrylic Lume: Tritium Caliber: Omega manual-wound caliber 861 Bracelet/Strap: HODINKEE Aged Brown Leather Watch Strap Lug Width: 18mm Box/Papers: No What we Love and What You Should Know The watch is in great overall condition. The case shows some minor surface scratches but no major nicks or surface wear (which often happens with gold-plated cases). The caseback is inscribed “GARY V. CANOVA.” The mint silvered sunburst dial has gained a soft patina, and the only noticeable flaw is a very tiny brown spot by nine o'clock. The creamy lume plots are still round and full, which is definitely a plus. The hands show some scratches and the lume on the hands shows a few spots. The top pusher is working but the return is slightly slow. Overall, this is a versatile vintage chronograph.1960s Omega Seamaster DeVille Gold-Plated Chronograph Reference 145.018 Regular price $3,500 Default Title Default Title - Sold Out Sold Sold See Similar watches Why This Watch Matters This classic Omega Seamaster DeVille chronograph has the perfect proportions and a beautiful patina for just the right amount of vintage charm.
