Omega Seamaster Chronostop 145.007

Description

Omega Seamaster Chronostop Ref. 145.007 circa 1967

A large stainless steel chronograph wristwatch Omega first introduced the Ref. 145.007 Chronostop in 1967, and the serial number of the present watch places it towards the beginning of the model’s production. Measuring 41 mm across the case, it is among the largest vintage wristwatch models produced by Omega. The chronograph mechanism operates in a manner similar to a flyback: the orange chronograph seconds hand is started via the pusher at the case side, and a second press automatically stops and resets the hand to the 12 o’clock position. This allows the orange hand to be used either as a constant seconds display or to time intervals of up to one minute. The inner bezel is calibrated with a tachymeter scale, enabling the measurement of speed over a fixed distance.
